ROBERT BLOMFIELD: March 1938 - Dec 2020. A familiar sight around Hebden Bridge was that of former doctor and photographer Robert Blomfield being wheeled around by his carer, Ralph Nimmann who has written a tribute, and provided photos, for this Lives Remembered page. (24 Dec)
PICTURE HOUSE RECEIVES CULTURE RECOVERY FUND AWARDS, allowing Hebden Bridge's cinema to cover its operating costs over the course of the current financial year and to secure the cinema's future well into 2021, its centenary year. More info (22 Dec)
ICE POST BOX COMES TO HEBDEN ROYD Hebden Royd Town Council were unable to host the annual Christmas Lights Switch On this year, but wanted to find a way to do something special for the children in the community. A conversation with Sand in Your Eye led to the idea of funding a magic post box made of ice from the North Pole. Read more

CALDERDALE ISSUE COVID-19 WARNING Cllr Tim Swift, Calderdale Council's Leader and Deborah Harkins, Director of Public Health at Calderdale have asked for the public's help. CALDER VALLEY BOOKS FOR CHANGE: is a new fundraising campaign that seeks to raise £6000 to buy a range of diverse and inclusive books for each of the 60 primary schools across the Calder Valley. GRANTS FROM THE ROTARY CLUB The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge awards grants to local, national and international charities and good causes. Their grant income comes from running events such as the Duck Race and the Vintage Weekend. Each year, they distribute around £45,000. More info (1 Feb)
