Another new novel from best-selling author Linda Green
Monday, 2 March 2020
Bestselling author Linda Green will be launching her new novel in Hebden Bridge this week, and it's already tipped for success after being selected for the BBC Radio 2 Book Club.
One Moment, set in Halifax and the Calder Valley, is one of six titles chosen from hundreds which were submitted to The Reading Agency, which works with librarians from across the UK to help Radio 2 choose the books to be featured.
The novel tells the story of an unlikely friendship between troubled 10-year-old Finn, and 59-year-old café worker Kaz. It starts just before they meet for the first time and what neither character realises, is that the second time they meet will be a moment which changes both of their lives forever.
The author, whose previous nine novels have sold more than one million copies, told the HebWeb, "I'm delighted that One Moment has been chosen for the BBC Radio 2 Book Club, and particularly so because of the role of librarians, readers and The Reading Agency in selecting it.
"I thoroughly enjoyed being interviewed by Jo Whiley and it was lovely to get such positive feedback from readers and I'm hoping it will help the book make it into the bestseller charts."
Ms Green will be launching her novel at The Humblest of Pleasures, Market Street, Hebden Bridge on Wednesday March 4 at 7pm and The Book Case will be selling signed copies. She will also be signing copies at The Book Corner in The Piece Hall, Halifax, on Saturday March 7 at 4pm.
