Statement from the Hebden Bridge Picture House

Picture House Statement

Tuesday, 23 June 2020

Dear Picture House friends,

We hope you are all safe and well.  We've missed our community, and the authentic cinema experience Hebden Bridge Picture House prides itself on, since our temporary closure in March.

Whilst we remain closed due to the continuing risks of Coronavirus, we want to reassure our customers that we will be re-opening our doors to you all in early to mid Autumn.

We exist for our community, and have a responsibility towards our customers and our staff not to re-open until it is safe to do so, for everyone. Additionally, we need to ensure we re-open only when it is sustainable for the cinema, which continues to operate on a not-for-profit basis without grant funding.  We are currently reliant on the financial support of the Government's Job Retention Scheme, which runs until the end of October and is providing assistance to the cinema whilst all staff are furloughed. Finally, we want to be able to bring you the best film programme possible, which means waiting for more new cinema releases. For all of these reasons, we will be waiting until the Autumn before we welcome you once more at the Picture House.

Social distancing and other safety measures will be in place when we open our doors to you. We will advertise our film programme on our website and social media channels, with web links for you to book tickets online in advance of your visit. P

lease sign up to our mailing list (at www.hbph.co.uk) or follow us on social media to be the first to hear HBPH news about our re-opening plans. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Best wishes from Hebden Bridge Picture House.
