Councillors New and Old Reveal Playground Plans
Monday, 16 March 2020
Wadsworth Parish Council has recently recruited four new Councillors:
- Kate Drury
- Judith Davis
- Stuart Bradshaw
- and Cherie Rivero.
The new Councillors would like to ask the community what piece of new equipment residents would like to see at Old Town play area.
The Parish Council receives a small amount of funding via the precept and is responsible for a number of facilities including the playgrounds at Pecket Well and Old Town. Both playgrounds have a popular wooden trim trail which has served for many years but is now reaching the end of its life. Initially it has been agreed to focus on replacing this piece of kit at Old Town Playground as it gets used by the school children as well as the children from the surrounding village.
Children are going to be asked to choose what type of equipment should replace the trim trail. The Council has some money to go towards the project but will also need to apply for additional funds.
Later in the year, consultation will be taking place but in the meantime please feel free to contact the Parish Clerk with any suggestions.
Wadsworth Parish Council is also looking to recruit one more new member, so please get in touch for an informal chat and to find out more about what the role involves. You do not need any specific qualifications but you do need to be over 18 and live within or within a few miles of the Parish.
