Summit Tunnel improvements will mean rail disruption

Progress continues at High Hirst Woodmeadow On Saturday 1 May, a team of 20 volunteers helped with hedge planting on the Town Council's High Hirst Woodmeadow site. A total of over 900 varieties of hedging were planted, including crab apple, rowan, rosehip and blackthorn. Read more 12 May 2021

Storm Christoph hit the Calder Valley from 19-21 January. Once again, our area faced serious risk of further flooding, from heavy rain falling on already saturated ground, along with melting snow. The level of the river peaked Weds afternoon at 5:15pm at 1.94m and was down to 1.32m by 11pm. (updated 21 Jan)
