Update from Friends of Heptonstall Museum:
see below for original news item
Huge thanks to everyone who completed our survey about the future of the museum. We had over 200 responses showing overwhelming support for keeping the museum open as a community asset. Based on your feedback, the Friends of Heptonstall Museum submitted their expression of interest to Calderdale MBC earlier this year.
We will find out in July if we have passed the first stage of the transfer process. The Friends have started preliminary work on the next step - preparing a full business plan.
If successful, we will hold a public meeting to consult further about our plans. The museum holds a special place at the heart of our village and we want to ensure that it has a secure future. In the meantime, if you would like to get involved, do please get in touch.

Following the decision by Calderdale Council to close Heptonstall Museum, a working group has been set up - the Friends of Heptonstall Museum - with the aim of taking on the museum as a community asset.
The group has representatives from the Calder Civic Trust, Elmet Trust, Arvon Foundation, Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall historical societies and Heptonstall Parish Council, school and church. There is an online survey you can fill in if you would like to help us or share your ideas about the museum's future.
