Arts Festival is looking for your memories
Wednesday, 7 November 2012
Hebden Bridge Arts Festival is looking for your memories as its mounts a special exhibition to celebrate its 20th birthday.
The organisers are asking local people to write in to tell them what they loved about the festival but they are particularly looking for photos from the last two decades.
Those photos will form part of the exhibition in Hebden Bridge Town Hall that will also feature images captured at last year's festival by official photographers Sarah Mason and Craig Shaw.
The launch of the show on December 6 coincides with the annual get together for volunteers and local people keen to join in the town's biggest festival.
"The festival wouldn't exist without our network of hard working volunteers, but we wanted to mark 20 years with something different so we need people to dig deep and send us their photos and memories," says Artistic Director Helen Meller.
"Sarah and Craig have some brilliant images from last year and we'll be printing up the best memories to go with the photos. Everything we are sent will also go on our Facebook site because we want to share people's positive thoughts of their festival."
To join in all you have do is email your photos/ memories or you can drop them off at the festival office in Hebden Bridge Town Hall. The deadline for photographic submissions is 30 November.
All volunteers past present and future are welcome at the launch event on December 6 which kicks off at 730pm.
