Jessica Hynes directing debut ‘The Fight’ announced for Hebden Bridge Film Festival
Film Festival: 22-24 March 2019
Bafta-winning actress Jessica Hynes (Spaced, W1A, Bridget Jones’ Baby) will showcase her debut feature film as a director, The Fight, as part of the inaugural Hebden Bridge Film Festival (HBFF). Hynes has worked as a writer and actress for over two decades. The Fight is her directorial debut.
As well as directing and writing the film, Hynes starts as Tina, a mother who, attempting to juggle her dysfunctional family, takes up boxing in an attempt to literally sweat out her anxieties. The film will be shown on Sunday 24 March at 7pm at the Hebden Bridge Picture House. Hynes will take part in a special Q&A to discuss the themes of the film and the production process.
The festival will take place from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 March with new films from the UK and around the world.
Louise Wadley, HBFF director, told the HebWeb, “Jessica is a familiar face to all of us. We are over the moon she is coming to the inaugural Hebden Bridge Film Festival. Her directorial debut examines the importance of learning to stand up for yourself in a poignant and life affirming way.”
