Lamplighter Festival this Saturday
Wednesday, 20 November 2013
23rd November, from 5.30pm, Todmorden
There has been a fantastic response to the open workshops with well over 220 lanterns made so far in Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.
"Workshops on Sunday were at capacity, it was so brilliant to see so many people getting excited about the event", Hannah Merriman, Handmade Parade Co-Ordinator told the HebWeb.
There are still opportunities to make a lantern in Hebden on Wednesday 4-6pm at the Handmade Parade workshops, or at Tod High on Thurs 4-6pm. All welcome, entry by donation, suggestion £5 per lantern.
Student poi performers, torch lit belly dancers, fire professionals, amazing illuminated artwork, street bands and a night market will be taking place Saturday from 5.30pm onwards in Todmorden. Parade route map is here
and the programme of street entertainment here.
Anyone wanting to find out more, volunteer to help make the magic happen or get a last minute stall should contact Hannah on info@handmadeparade.co.uk.
