Market Street road repairs

Bets been taken. So according to Calderdale council the repairs that will be carried out very soon to Market Street and Bridge Lane will mean no further work needed for at least 10 years! Well I think that within a few weeks of this work been completed a utility company will be along to dig it up and make a mess, they will also not repair it correctly leaving pot holes etc… What do other people think?
see below an extract from Hebweb's news page
Over £200,000 of essential maintenance work will begin on the A646 Market Street and Bridge Lanes in Hebden Bridge on 26 October 2015.
The full carriageway will be resurfaced, all existing road markings will be replaced and any ironwork, such as utility covers, will be adjusted or renewed.
Calderdale Council's Director of Economy and Environment, Mark Thompson said, "This is a very well-used length of road, but with this investment we should not need to do any further maintenance work for another ten years, which is good news for regular commuters and local businesses. It will also create an improved road surface, with clearer markings to help keep road users safe."

The Hebweb news page also says: "To minimise disruption, work on the scheme will begin at 10pm and will finish at 4am from Monday to Friday for the duration of the project, which is scheduled to last three weeks. A diversion will be in place for road travellers, however access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be unaffected."
I queried this with Calderdale, and got the response:
"The signed diversion route for traffic through Hebden Bridge will be via Todmorden, Littleborough, Blackstone Edge, Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd and vice versa. The prohibitively long diversion is the reason that the works are being carried out overnight, despite the inevitable noise disturbance that will be caused to local residents.
Heptonstall Road should only be fully closed on the nights of Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 October plus Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 November. A formal diversion will not be signed but residents will be aware of alternative routes via Blackshaw Head. On other nights access from Heptonstall Road in the Todmorden direction will be available.
If all goes to plan the work should be completed on the evening of Friday 6 November."
So anybody wanting to drive from one side of the town to the other after 10 pm on the nights in question can expect a long detour!
