The Korgis coming to the Trades
Sunday 6 April 2025
The Korgis, the classic British pop band best known for their worldwide hit single Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime play Hebden Bridge Trades Club on Friday 25th July.
Formed in 1978 by James Warren and Andy Davis, two members of the recently demised eccentric prog-rock band Stackridge, with the plan of writing and recording radio-friendly pop, the duo struck gold twice with If I Had You and the timeless classic Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime.
The latter tune has been covered over 50 times since the original Korgis rendition by artists as varied as Beck, Sharon Corr, Erasure, Baby D and The Flying Pickets and continues to have a life of its own right up to the present day.
At the celebrated Trades Club in Hebden Bridge, (where Stackridge successfully performed on many occasions between 2011 and 2015) , The Korgis will present their fabulous multi-media live show; a celebration of the core members' fascinating individual musical development, comprising renditions of their favourite inspiring songs by other artists they've been connected with - Tears For Fears, Peter Gabriel, Stackridge etc. along with a generous sprinkling of anecdotes and vintage video clips.
Of the upcoming show at the Trades Club frontman Jakes Warren says 'the Trades Club is one of our favourite venues in the UK and we can't wait to perform for you all'.
