Train disruption in September

Network Rail is investing more than £22m to rebuild a major railway bridge that takes trains over the M62 in Castleton, near Rochdale.
Passengers and motorists are urged to check before they travel this September as rail and road closures are required to replace the 42 metre long, 2000 ton bridge.
Between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale, the railway will be closed from 6 September until the early morning of 25 September.
Rail replacement buses will be in operation. Passengers are advised to check their travel in advance as journey times will be significantly longer than usual and journey times will be significantly longer than usual.
Trains between Manchester Victoria and Leeds will start / terminate at Bradford Interchange.

Trains between Blackpool North and York will be diverted via Brighouse (calling additionally at Sowerby Bridge and Mytholmroyd), and will not call at Halifax, Bradford Interchange and New Pudsey.
The M62 will be closed between Junction 18 and Junction 20 from late Friday, September 6 to early morning on Monday, September 9, and again on the evening of Friday, September 20 to the early morning on Monday, September 23.
Castleton bridge carries 6% of the UK's energy supply across the country, as freight trains carry material to and from Drax power station in Selby.
