Mytholmroyd Station - latest news
Sunday, 24 March 2024
We have been busy seeking funding to refurbish the redundant station building at Mytholmroyd.
After seventeen years of meetings, we have been successful with the Community Ownership Fund.
Plans to install basic amenities (water, Electricity etc) before the first artistic tenants come, in about twelve months time.
Our charity trustees are known as the Tenacity Team – whatever is thrown at us (Covid, big corporation beaurocracy, floods – we kept going.
The project is to convert the building into a local creative hub and space for the local community groups. We have been 'gifted' the building on a 25 year lease as a community hub run by the local community.
If you (or anyone) are interested in looking round this unique 150 year old building – please contact communityhub.myt@btinternet.com
Busy times ahead
14th April – Clay Workshop using local wild clay in the station building. Details contact @katieb_pottery.
1st June – Mytholmroyd Heritage Day with photographic exhibition in the station building and St Michael's Hall.
5–7th July – Hebden Open Studios including the station building with local portrait artists, weavers, ceramics etc. .
Ready for transformation and occupation!
