Hebden Bridge Clothes Swap
Saturday 30 September
Hebden Bridge Town Hall
11-4
Are you ready to fight the fast fashion industry?
Buy less, swap more!
Swap in your unwanted clothes, shoes and accessories for new (to you) items at Hebden Bridge Town Hall from 11am - 4pm on Saturday 30 September.
Come and join a community of people committed to breaking the fast fashion cycle: the world's second most polluting industry.
How it works:
Dig out your wardrobes and bring your unwanted wears (must still be in good condition) and take home some new (to you) ones!
Condition: We have had some problems in the past with people using the event to bring too many items not in good condition, which we have then had to deal with after the event. The clothes you donate should be ones you'd happily give to a friend or buy yourself in a charity shop!
Item Limit: To prevent the swap becoming swamped, we implement a 15 item limit on clothes brought to swap (this is something that other clothes exchange events implement too, so we are following their example)
On arrival your unwanted items will be counted and you will be able to take home as many items as you bring for free. After that, extra items will cost £2 each – all proceeds from the event going to Healthy Minds,
Calderdale's local mental health charity
We recognise that sustainable clothes shopping isn't cheap and we want to deal with this issue of accessibility by providing an affordable space for clothes to be reused and given new life. There is a suggested donation of £3 on entry, or give what you can.
We welcome all sizes of clothing, and encourage the full spectrum of genders of people to attend. We are an LGBTQIA+ led organisation and seek to provide an environment for everyone regardless of gender expression to share the joy of our clothes swap events.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, but if you have mobility needs and would like further accessibility information please get in touch with the Town Hall.
And finally...
