Calderdale Council Elections
Update: Cllr Sarah Courtney has been re-elected Councillor for the Calder Ward (covering Hebden Bridge) with over 3000 votes, far more than any other candidate in Calderdale.
Cllr Scott Patient has been re-elected Labour Councillor for the Luddendenfoot Ward, (including Mytholmroyd). Cllr Helen Brundell has been elected for Labour in Todmorden. See below for number of votes and turnout.
Calderdale now has its first Green councillor. Martin Hey beat Conservative Stephen Baines by just 7 voters in the ward of Northowram and Shelf.
Election date: Thursday 5 May 2022
There are 51 councillors who run Calderdale Council. Calderdale is divided into 17 wards which each return three councillors. Three years out of four, we have the chance to elect one councillor. Councillors are elected to serve on the Council for a term of 4 years. Hebden Bridge is in the Calder Ward, and Mytholmroyd is in the Luddendenfoot ward.
Before the 2022 election, the number of councillors were Lab 28, Cons 13, Lib Dem 7 and Independent 3.
