Councillor to Run the Mayor's Charity Challenge

A Hebden Royd Councillor is running 17 kilometres in a bid to raise money for the Mayor's chosen charity, Hebden Bridge & District Old People's Welfare Committee.
Cllr Scott Patient said, "It's an honour to Run the Mayor's Charity Challenge in support of this incredible local charity. They have been doing such vital work for the vulnerable and needy of the Upper Calder Valley during the Covid-19 crisis."
The covid-safe challenge is made up of two routes. Confident runners are invited to sign up to the challenge and take part on any day or time prior to 3 May. Non-runners are asked to support Scott and other registered runners by donating to the online Hebden Royd Town Council Just Giving page.
Scott continues, "By donning your fell running trainers, you can help Hebden Bridge & District Old People's Welfare Committee continue to provide the support, kindness & sense of community that has been so important over the last year or so. Do give generously and most importantly - have fun. See you on the trails!"

Mayor of Hebden Royd, Cllr Val Stevens said, "This has been a hard year for everyone, and I hope that the generous people of Calder Valley will support this local charity that has done so much to support older people during this last year. I am incredibly pleased that my colleague, Cllr Scott Patient has volunteered to take on this challenge. I'd also like to give special thanks to Wasp Sports in Powys for donating Scott's branded running vest."
