Improvement Works at Old Town Playground
Thursday, 8 April 2021
Wadsworth Parish Council is responsible for a number of facilities including the playgrounds at Pecket Well and Old Town Green.
Both playgrounds have a popular wooden trim trail which has served for many years but is now reaching the end of its life. Initially it has been agreed to focus on replacing this piece of kit at Old Town Playground as it gets used by the school children as well as the children from the surrounding village.
The popular trim trail is going to be replaced by an updated metal version.
Sadly, it is also time to say goodbye to the remains of the old rocking horse, who has been static for many years now and is gradually rotting away. The rocking horse is going to be replaced by two new springies (see right) which we hope the younger children will really enjoy.
The improvement works will be taking place after the easter holidays
The Parish Council is hoping to carry out further improvement works to its playgrounds in the future via grant funding so if any one has any ideas or suggestions please do get in touch at wparish@hotmail.com
