Hebden Royd to fund Citizens Advice Adviser

Monday, 25 January 2021

The Town Council are delighted to fund a Citizens Advice Adviser for residents of Hebden Royd to ensure anyone that is struggling in the community can access the help and support that they need.

Citizens Advice Calderdale (CAB) provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities, including guidance and support on benefits, debt, energy, employment and consumer rights. Where casework support is needed, CAB will ensure that clients receive this help and are referred to key partners as required.

Caroline Jones, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Calderdale, said, "We are delighted to be provided with this opportunity by Hebden Royd Town Council to offer an additional advice and information outreach service for local residents."

The funding from Hebden Royd Town Council, under current restrictions, will support CAB to offer a dedicated advice line to the residents of Hebden Royd. Each Thursday, from 4th February, residents of Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale can contact 07943 184706 between the hours of 10am and 1pm. It is hoped that face to face appointments will be provided to residents in Hebden Royd at Mytholmroyd Community Centre when it is safe to do so.

Mayor of Hebden Royd, Cllr Val Stevens said, "Hebden Royd Town Council knows how difficult the last year has been for residents and will be this year for a while. We hope that this additional advice service will be able to offer a helping hand for those who need it most."

Hebden Royd residents are still able to contact CAB via their normal channels on other days of the week using the telephone number 0808 278 7879. Or via email, using the Contact Us section on www.calderdalecab.org.uk.

Citizens Advice's services are free, independent, confidential and impartial, and available to all regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, age or nationality.
