Climate Strike Action in Hebden Bridge
Friday, 20 September 2019
Today around 150 people gathered in Georges Square, partly school children from primary and secondary schools in the Upper Valley and partly adult supporters. They were there to demand action to limit climate change.
After listening to the wishes and hopes of some children, the demonstrators walked to the Park and planted a local oak sapling to publicise the most effective machine to absorb carbon - trees.
They then walked to the station to see off those going to the larger demonstration in Manchester.
