Win tickets to see poet Tony Walsh at the Trades
Wednesday 22 May, Trades Club
When performance poet Tony Walsh stood up to perform his poem This Is The Place in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena bombing that claimed 23 lives, he had no idea of the impact it would have.
Beamed round the world Tony’s passion and words offered a powerful alternative to murderous fanatics with its message of solidarity and love.
Since then he has returned to his poetry day job, where he was once poet in residence at Glastonbury, bringing his new show full of powerful and funny verse to the Trades Club on Wednesday 22 May .
“Art brings us together and people particularly turn to poetry for what it can do in times of difficulty. As an artist you dream of connecting with people and to connect to that level is a privilege,” says Tony.
“I am a big music fan, and I know what the Trades represents, so I will dust off a few poems about music and festivals.”
