Footbridge over Colden closed
Friday, 2 February 2018
A tree has slid down the bank and fallen on the footbridge over the River Colden. One of the stone spans has been cut in two and is in the river. The handrail is bent and partly in the river.
Calderdale Highways Department have put up notices closing the footpath. The tree would be about 60cm diameter at the base end of the bridge and 40cm at the other end.
CROWS have told the HebWeb that either Calderdale or CROWS will deal with the tree to get the path reopened, but the long term damage will require engineering skills, plus some fundraising.
