Call for election debate in the Calder Valley

Nationally, Theresa May has refused to have a debate with Jeremy Corbyn. This makes it more important than ever that candidates be prepared to debate in their local constituencies.
The Labour, Green and Independent candidates for Calder Valley have written to incumbent Craig Whittaker challenging him to debate, following Whittaker's claim he couldn't make the NUT education debate on May 22.
Commenting on Whittaker's refusel to debate Labour candidate Josh Fenton-Glynn said.
I'm not surprised Mr. Whittaker doesn't want this debate on education. Two years ago he stood on the roof of one of our schools and has since barley mentioned the issue in Parliament while his party has cut school budgets in Calderdale and nationwide.
I believe the public should have the opportunity to here the ideas of all the candidates and hear why we believe we should be the voice for Calder Valley on all issues. We are avalible at any time and I look forward to Craig's response.
In the 2015 election, the HebWeb helped organise a debate between the candidates which packed out the large venue, Hope Baptist Church. Unfortunately, Craig Whittaker couldn't make that debate either.
