Register to vote by 22 May

Residents in Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and the Upper Valley need to make sure they are registered to vote, to ensure their voice is heard at election time.
On Thursday 8 June, the UK will go to the polls to vote in the 2017 General Election. To ensure you can have your say, it’s important to register to vote before the deadline of Monday 22 May 2017.
Online registration takes less time than it takes to make a cup of tea. Visit the Register to Vote website and fill out the details on the form. You’ll need your National Insurance number to hand to complete your registration.
Hundreds of thousands of people have already registered since themelection was called.
It’s important you register before the deadline of Monday 22 May to ensure you can have your say on Thursday 8 June. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
If you're British or Irish and living in the UK, you're entitled to register to vote.
Around 75% people aged 65 and over normally vote. But it's estimated that just over 40% of 18-24 year olds will bother to register and vote. If you know someone who hasn't registered, nag them to have their say.
