Handmade Parade Spark Day: Ideas Welcome
"The fantastic ideas for our events come from the community and we cannot do this without them."
Would you like to see giants in St George’s Square, Bridge Gate filled with fantastic creations or Calder Holmes Park transformed into a intergalactic playground? If so, now is the chance to make it happen.
Handmade Parade are holding a Spark Day on Saturday 11 March from 2.00pm-3.30pm at the parade workshops in Victoria Road. Come and help us dream up our 10th annual Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade!
What themes are on your mind this year? What would you like to see on the streets of Hebden Bridge? What costume have you always wanted to make?
Each year, we start the designing process at this Spark Day meeting to make sure everyone has a say on the theme and design of the parade. So bring you favourite ideas--the bigger and crazier, the better!
Everyone is welcome and we’d like as many people as possible to come along with their bright ideas – the crazier the better! Artistic Director of Handmade Parade, Andrew Kim, invites you to join in, saying, “The parade has become one of the most important fixtures. The fantastic ideas for our events come from the community and we cannot do this without them. I encourage everyone to come along and give us your ideas, we could just build it for you”.
If anyone can’t attend the Spark Day but would like to contribute, you can email your ideas to info@handmadeparade.co.uk or post them to Handmade Parade, Unit 5 Victoria Works, Victoria Road, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8LN.
This year’s Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade is supported by Arts Council England, Hebden Royd Town Council, Community Foundation for Calderdale and Yorkshire Festival and is working in partnership with Calderdale Council and Creative Minds.
This year's parade is on Sunday 25 June 2017. Find out more here.
