Interested in using your skills and experience to strengthen your local community? Find out about becoming a charity trustee.
Trustees of the Hebden Bridge Community Association (HBCA) are inviting people for a cuppa and a piece of cake in the Town Hall cafe on Thursday 10 November anytime between 4pm and 7.30pm to mark Trustees Week and find out more about becoming a charity trustee.

Several trustees will be on hand for an informal chat about their experience of being involved with Hebden Bridge Community Association (HBCA), the charity that owns and manages The Town Hall on behalf of the whole community. The Town Hall, Hebden Bridge, is one of the first community-owned town halls in the country.
As well as offering a range of spaces for community groups, celebrations, events and businesses, The Town Hall leads the Staying Well project in the Hebden Bridge area to reduce loneliness and isolation, and was a vital community hub in the aftermath of the Boxing Day floods.
Rachel Rickards, Chair of HBCA, says, "Community is right at the heart of who we are and what we do. Since Christmas, we've seen how your Town Hall has the potential to do something really different. We'd like people in our community to think about joining us as a trustee to explore that and bring new skills and experience to our board. We'd love to meet you for a cup of tea and informal chat on the 10 November."

Trustees play a vital role in managing charities, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity's work.
Trustees' Week runs from 7-13 November and is an opportunity to find out more about being a charity trustee and how you can get involved and make a difference.
