Murray Lachlan YoungBBC6 Music's resident poet Murray Lachlan Young at the Trades

Wednesday, 7 September 2016

BBC6 music's resident poet Murray Lachlan Young presents his new live show at Hebden Bridge Trades Club on Friday September 16.

Lachlan Young reads a topical poem every Friday morning on Shaun Keaveny's hugely popular 6 Music breakfast show and will be performing material from his new hardback collection: How Freakin' Zeitgeist Are You? along with much loved live favourites from his radio recitals.

Murray's poems focus on the bizarre facets of fame, fashion, people, politics, a mild erotic folk ballad and even the space-time continuum.

He is fresh from summer festival appearances at Glastonbury, WOMAD, Cornbury, and Port Eliot and Festival No 6.

Murray said, "For me, Hebden Bridge has always been a place full of mystery, a fabled northern Mecca of arty lefties with analogue hi-fi equipment and Japanese Denim in ready supply. I'm a little afraid to go there unless it turns out to be a mirage. However, as they say, fortune favours the bold…"

In a surprise move Mick Jagger recently presented Keith Richards with a CD of Murray's poem that marked the anniversary of Keith falling out of a coconut tree.

Murray Lachlan Young plays Hebden Bridge Trades Club on Friday September 16 and ticket are available online www.thetradesclub.com
