The Hebden Bridge Picture House is too special to lose

The Hebden Bridge Picture House wants to thank everyone who visited during the six months of refurbishment following the floods.
Now, they say, they need your help more than ever.
To stay open, Hebden Bridge Picture House needs an average of 80 customers per screening. However, for the first quarter of this year it was 55 customers compared to the 92 last year.
Now that the new seats have been installed downstairs and the foyer is back open again, the Hebden Bridge Picture House needs to boost numbers in order to cover costs and keep the cinema open.
The Hebden Bridge Picture House receives no operational grants or Council funding and are entirely reliant on customers.

- It is a 1920s vintage independent not-for-profit cinema.
- They serve local cakes, ice cream and beer, plus tea and hot chocolate in proper mugs!
- Only 7% of UK cinema screens show specialised, non-mainstream films and the Hebden Bridge Picture House is one of those few.
- The program is amazing space-space widescreen classics, 35mm film, foreign language, indie, cult, documentaries, local film-makers as well as the latest blockbusters.
- Plus live theatre, ballet, opera, concepts and art documentaries from around the world.
- The fantastic 26 staff are paid a Living Wage.
- The Hebden Bridge Picture House is the largest venue in the Upper Calder Valley and a popular choice for community events, school shows, the arts festival and bands.
- The Hebden Bridge Picture House is open every day.
