Thanks to Finn Jenson for this article

On Saturday 11th June at 12 noon, we are spreading the wood chip - already bagged - around the fruit trees and fruit bushes in the community orchard.

Everyone is welcome to come and give a hand. It should only take an hour. Some asylum seekers from the Together We Grow project might also be helping out.

If you do not know where the community orchard is just go to the New Delight Inn (Newdy) at Jack Bridge in Blackshaw Head and walk pass the red telephone box along the stream for a couple of minutes. It is on the left side of the road with a couple of steps through a gate. There are two benches and a picnic table in the orchard.

If enough people come there are a few other jobs that can also be done at the community orchard: removing grass from around the fruit bushes & the wind break and finalising the steps from the gate up to the picnic table and the bench.

We may also prune the plum trees. Mark Simmonds will be there to show how to do the pruning. Tools will be provided.
