Wednesday, 27 April 2016
The Happy Valley Collective, an independent record label run by a group of local recording musicians, has just produced its second EP - "From The Top". The EP features guest vocals from Steve Tilston - Hebden Bridge's own national folk scene icon, and Helen Watson - one of the country's premier jazz and blues singers, who used to live in the town.
Musical accompaniment is provided by the core group of songwriters - Martin McGroarty, Steve Andrews and Wally Woodcock, with a guest appearance by Becky Taylor on Uilleann pipes.
Wally told the HebWeb, "We were pleased with the sales of our first EP "Love is the Only Way" - we raised over £400 for the Macmillan Trust.
"The new EP offers four tracks in a range of musical styles, and we hope that there will be something for everyone on there. There's lots more music in the Happy Valley pipeline - we've already started work on a third EP, and we'll be officially releasing the second album from Uncle Wally and Uncle Steve - "Wrecked" - soon."
The EP is now available on iTunes and Spotify. and a limited edition CD (100 copies) will be released shortly.
