Mytholmroyd author short-listed for £10,000 Literary Prize

Mytholmroyd based author, Benjamin Myers has been short listed for the £10,000 Portico Literature Prize for his novel Beastings.
Beastings was published by Hebden Bridge publisher Bluemoose Books in July 2014. Ben has already won The Northern Writers' Award, The inaugural Gordon Burns Prize and The Society of Authors Tom Gallon Award.
Previous winners of The Portico Literature Prize include Anthony Burgess, Val McDermid and Sarah Hall.
The winner will be announced at a gala dinner on 26th November in Manchester hosted by Val McDermid.
The Portico Library in Manchester is open to all and aims to enhance and develop life-long learning by providing and promoting access to knowledge and education in Art, History, Literature and Science.
