Launch of Haworth - Hebden Bridge Walking Guide

Haworth and Hebden Bridge are the two most popular walking centres in the South Pennines and are only about seven miles apart as the crow flies (but longer on foot!) Between them is a fine area of moors, fields, valleys and reservoirs which offers a great opportunity for walking.

Following requests from both Visitor Centres, Hebden Bridge Walkers Action has produced a guide to walking between the two towns. The sixteen page route guide includes information about the area between the two towns, a map of the routes and detailed directions for walking the Pennine Way and Old Road routes.
Hebden Bridge Walkers Action website www.hbwalkersaction.org.uk also has details of how to combine using the bus with the two routes and a selection of walks off the routes.
The route guide, price £1.50 is available from Haworth and Hebden Bridge Visitors centres and outlets in Haworth, Oxenhope and Hebden Bridge.
The two routes have been repaired and improved by volunteers from CROWS (Community Rights of Way Services) working with Bradford Countryside Service.

At the launch, Mo Ludlam from Hebden Bridge Walkers Action thanked all the organisations who supported and funded the initiative including Haworth, Cross Roads & Stanbury and Hebden Royd Town councils, Oxenhope Parish Council, West Yorkshire Metro, Visit Bradford and Calderdale Council's tourism teams and Friends of Calderdale Countryside.
Cllr John Huxley Chairman of Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council commented, "We are delighted to be associated with Hebden Bridge Walkers Action and our neighbouring local councils is helping publish this Hebden Bridge to Haworth walk leaflet. We believe it will give walkers many hours of pleasure and perfectly illustrates what can be achieved when members of the community come together to deliver something that is needed."
