Tea towels for White Ribbon

Chris Green (left) from the White Ribbon Campaign receives £250
donation from Mike Barrett of Valley Organics Workers' Coop.

The money was generated from the sale of tea-towels in Valley Organics shop. 50p from every Tea towel sold is donated to the campaign.

White Ribbon is a charity based in Mytholmroyd supporting men working to end violence against women.  Chris Green told the HebWeb, "Many men ignore this problem, or see it as something which doesn't have anything to do with them. We need to join women and women's organisations in taking action against violence. You can take the first step by signing the pledge on our website."

The tea-towels are made exclusively for Valley Organics in India from fairly-traded organic cotton sewn by a women's cooperative tailoring society.

There are 3 unique designs by Mike Barrett featuring Hebden Bridge's own typeface based on the lettering on the old packhorse bridge.

The tea-towels cost £4.95 each, including the donation.
