Hebden Bridge to welcome Tour de France visitors

Hebden Bridge prepares to welcome thousands of visitors on Sunday to view the Tour de France.
It is the only official Tour De France designated visitor hub in the Calderdale Stretch of the race.
Jonathan Timbers, the Mayor will be greeting visitors arriving by bus at the Mytholm Turning Circle and handing them copies of the Welcome to Hebden Bridge brochure produced by the Hebden Bridge Partnership.
Bob Deacon Chair of the Hebden Bridge Partnership, together with Friends of the Railway Station, will be doing the same for those arriving by train.
The idea is that visitors not only see the race but get to know Hebden Bridge and will want to return again on a quieter weekend. The concern is the longer term legacy of the race will give a boost to the town as a visitor attraction, and the consequent creation of employment.
Offers of help either at the Mytholm turning circle or at the station between 8.30 and 11.30 on Sunday are welcome. Just turn up. There's still plenty of time to rush of and see race then.
After the race has passed, the leaflets will also be handed out in the Park at the Visitor Hub. Come along to the cafe to help between 2 and 4.
