CROWS - Community Rights of Way Services
Wednesday, 6 November 2013
A new volunteer Group has been formed to improve Calderdale's footpath network. The work will be in addition to projects carried out by Calderdale Council's Countryside Service.
The group members have many years' experience of countryside work including building bridges and stiles, path clearing, drainage works and way-marking of routes. They continue to work for Calderdale Council's Countryside Service.
As well as maintenance work, CROWS will survey the condition of the footpath and bridleway network and report problems to the local council Rights of Way department.
Current projects include path creation and improvements for Pennine Horizons E-trails, Cragg Vale Community Association and Mytholmroyd Walkers Action.
