Gibson Mill hosts successful Craft Fair for fourth year
The National Trust's Gibson Mill is being prepared for a very special annual event.
Gibson Mill's fourth Autumn Craft Fair will showcase a wide variety of stalls offering a range of crafted goodies from Friday 25th October to Sunday 27th October 2013, every day 11am – 4pm.
There will be handmade quality products available and visitors will have the opportunity to chat to the makers and designers about their work, and perhaps even be inspired to take up a craft themselves.
Well-known local businesses such as Frances Noon, Teazle Handmade, Vivienne Bradley, Ali Haley Jewellery, Wicked Gen Crafts, Hugs Unlimited, Hugh Leishman, and many more from further afield will be showcasing their products which include glass, wood, leather and textiles as well as a selection of jewellery, clothing, food and preserves.
Susi Leach, retail and events manager, said told the HebWeb, "Four years on and it's fantastic that many of our original stall holders want to return and do it all again, we also have some new ones on offer that will not disappoint."
Many are already familiar with the award-winning Bridestones Brewery which offers a range of beers brewed with natural ingredients and special Pennine spring water and will also be showcasing their delicious ales as well as a very special recipe brewed especially for the Fair - so far, the ingredients have been kept a secret.
Susi continues, "The Autumn Craft Fair atmosphere is fantastic - especially since Christmas is fast approaching and the surroundings at Hardcastle Crags provide a wonderful day out. There's also The Weaving Shed Café for a well deserved refreshment after your walk and shopping."
The Mill was originally used for making cotton and the team try to respect its cultural history by continuing to indulge in arts and crafts wherever possible, the Fair is also a lovely way for people to socialise with like-minded groups.
