As part of the Hebden Bridge WI Sensational Summer Rag Market, and alongside the Hebden Bridge Open Studios, the WI are holding a competition and opportunity for Artists and Craftspeople to showcase their work around the Town.

Artwork based on the theme of “Haberdashery” has been submitted by artists, both local and from further afield over the past couple of weeks and the shortlisted entries have been exhibited in the windows of various shops around the town.

Alison Bartram, owner of Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge, is delighted to have been asked to choose an overall winner. This winner will have the opportunity of working with Alison in the future to create either a 'one-off' commission piece for Heart Gallery or a collection of work to showcase.

The competition entrants have a varied creative background, some amateurs, creating artwork as a hobby, and some have used their creative talents to start a small business.

All our artists are extremely talented. We’re sure you’ll find something to inspire and delight you along our trail.

Information on each artist is placed with their artwork in the following shops; Print Bureau; Joyce’s Closet; Ribbon Circus; Mamtora Opticians; Yorkshire Colour; Zeitgeist; The Pot Stop; Crabtrees; Fleur De Lys; L.T.D.; Fat Face; The Closet; Treehouse; Circle Of Friends; Element: The Bookcase; Dynamite; Ruby Shoesday and Hat Therapy.

Judging will take place at the end of this week, and the winner announced at the Hebden Bridge WI Rag Market on Sunday 14th July.
