Friends of Hebden Bridge Picture House in action
Wednesday, 28 November 2012
Friends of Hebden Bridge Picture House turned out in force for a mass clean up of the community owned Hebden Bridge Picture House.
The volunteers repainted the cinema's gates, swept up mounds of leaves off pathways, rubbed rust off the railings and even cleared years old debris off the lower roofs.
The event was organised by the Friends of the Picture House committee who work with Hebden Royd Council to make sure the cinema offers the best customer experience for local people.
"Hebden Royd Council are grateful to all the volunteers who gave up their time to tackle lots of jobs that really needed doing round the cinema and it has made a huge difference," says Hebden Royd Town Clerk Jason Boom.
Paul Knights an elected member of the Friends of the Picture House said "this is exactly the sort of event the Friends of the Picture House committee was set up to coordinate, and we never cease to be amazed at how our community rallies round when needed."
