More big names at the Trades Club

Pop Legend Edwyn Collins and rising folk stars Stornoway are the latest big names to announce dates at the Trades Club.

Both acts usually play much bigger venues and Stornoway end their tour playing the 2500 seat Forum in London. Stornoway play on Friday 8 February and Edwyn Collins on Sunday 14 April with tickets on sale at the club or via www.wegottickets.co.uk.

"Word is getting about about our new PA, and the brilliant crowds at the Trades, so we were delighted when Edwyn and Stornoway agreed to play such intimate shows in Hebden," says Trades Club Ents Manager Mal Campbell. "We're having to limit sales to four tickets person because demand will be so high for these gigs so early booking is essential."

Edwyn Collins made his name with Orange Juice and their pop gems defined the Sound Of Young Scotland on Postcard Records. He scored a massive world wide hit with 'A Girl Like You' picking up an Ivor Novello award along the way. But in 2005 he suffered a catastrophic brain haemorrhage that nearly killed him and his courageous battle back to the stage was chronicled in a best selling book.

Stornoway are on the road plugging their new album Tales for Terra Firma which is the follow up to the award winning album Beachcomberʼs Windowsill which sold over 75,000 copies in the UK. The Oxford quartet were the first ever unsigned band to play Later..with Jools Holland, and this is their first UK headline tour since their acclaimed, sold-out Somerset House performance in front of an audience of three thousand fans last year.
