More improvements at the Hebden Bridge Picture House
Friday, 7 September 2012
The Hebden Bridge Picture House will be a hive of activity over the coming weeks as the 'Ladies' and 'Gentleman's' toilets receive a full refurbishment.
'It was without doubt one of the clearest messages we received when we asked people about the Picture House at the start of the year that the toilets must be improved' said Susan Press, Chair of the Picture House Committee.
Over the next 6 weeks staggered work will see both toilets completely removed and fitted as new in the downstairs auditorium.
'The layout restricts additional cubicles but we are trying to give some airiness and light to the toilets, remove the clutter and install space saving sanitary wear'.
The Picture House will continue to open for all screenings with arrangements in place for use of other facilities in the building.
'We'd like to thank the users of the Picture House for their patience at this time as we work towards giving the Picture House the TLC it deserves'.
Cllr Press added 'we'll also have the Picture House boilers working once more this week following the flooding and they will be commissioned on Monday 10th September in time for a return to those cosy winter nights at the Picture House.'
