Seven year old Jack Anderson to climb three peaks to raise money for heart research
Monday, 4 June 2012
Heart Research UK organises the 25-mile walk every year to climb three of the highest peaks in Yorkshire; Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
Jack Anderson of Hebden Bridge, aged just seven, is one of those who hope to complete the walk on Saturday 16 June. Jack has already climbed to the top of 15 mountains, including the highest in Scotland, England and Wales.
Jack wants to raise money for heart research; he was very saddened by the death of his grandmother following a heart attack last year.
His mother, Josephine Anderson of Croft Mill told the HebWeb: "Since his sixth birthday, Jack has managed to walk over 12 mountains including, Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike. His latest venture is to take part in The Three Peak Challenge and walk the mountains Penygwent, Wernside and Ingleborough in 12 hours, which will be the climax of his walking career of just seven years."
Many people will be cheering Jack on and there is a sponsor page to donate support - over £250 has been raised already - where you can also see more photos of Jack on some of his recent walks.
