Physiotherapist Ali Mills, based in Hebden Bridge, will be attempting the Fred Whitton cycling challenge on the 13th May 2012. It's a grueling 112 miles around the Lake District including all the major passes. It has around 12,500' of climbing.
Ali Mills has beaten ovarian cancer and its now time to give something back. MacMillan supported her both financially and emotionally throughout this time. She has been looking for a suitable challenge to raise as much as she can for them to say thank you for the great work they do.
The Fred Whitton Challenge is a 112 mile sportive challenge ride for charity around the Lake District, run in memory of Fred Whitton. It starts and finishes at Coniston, and the route includes the climbs of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott & Wrynose passes.
