Luddendenfoot ward covering Mytholmroyd
Christine Bampton Smith - Liberal Democrat - 948 votes
Gillian Smith-Moorhouse - Conservative - 823 votes
Simon Young - Labour - 1263 votes
Turnout: 38%
Todmorden ward
Ian Cooper - Conservative - 583 votes
Olwen Jennings - Liberal Democrat - 874 votes
David Jones - BNP - 257 votes
John Nesbitt - Green - 246 votes
Steve Sweeney - Labour - 1072 votes
Turnout: 34%
Calderdale remains 'no overall controll'. Labour have gained 7 seats and became the largest party with 20 seats, Conservatives 17 seats, Liberal Democrats 12 seats, others 2 seats.
Calderdale Council has 51 seats and one third were contested yesterday.
For most of the past thirty years, no one party has been able to control Calderdale Council. The exceptions were 1990-1992 and 1996-1998 when it was Labour and 2000-2002 when it was Conservative.

On 3 May, one Calderdale Council seat is being contested in Hebden Bridge, which is in the Calder Ward.
All 4 candidates are women.

Our neighbouring ward is Luddenden Foot and this covers Mytholmroyd. Three candidates are contesting the seat.
