Eastwood Household Waste Recycling Centre:
Have your say
Local residents are being offered the chance to have their say about how improvements to the Household Waste Recycling Centre Eastwood can be made.
A consultation will take place between 6 and 18 of September 2011 with the launch event taking place at Bridgeholme Cricket Club, Eastwood on Tuesday 6 September 'drop in event' between 1pm and 6.30pm.
Calderdale Council's Cabinet Member, Employment and Environment, Cllr Barry Collins, says: "Having already improved the Household Waste Recycling Centres in other areas, we are now turning our attention to how we can improve the Eastwood site. We are looking at making the site easier and safer to use whilst boosting the recycling levels and having a reduced impact on the site's neighbours.
"I urge residents to visit one of the consultation events or even visit the display at one of the libraries and have their say. We'll have a display showing the two main options and the opportunity for input into environmental improvements around the site.
Calderdale Council's Leader, Cllr. Janet Battye, says: "As well as a chance to be heard and help improve the facility at Eastwood Recycling Centre residents can also help shape their neighbourhoods at the same time, there's a chance to get involved in developing a Neighbourhood Plan for the whole of Eastwood."
Eastwood Residents Association has appointed planning consultants Placemaker Associates to assist them in the development of a Neighbourhood Plan to cover the whole of the Eastwood community. Placemaker Associates will attend the launch consultation on 6 September and invite residents to give their ideas.
