Calderdale Community Energy
The Alternative Technology Centre in Hebden Bridge is working with Calderdale Council and other partners to establish a Community Energy Company which will form a revolving fund for investment in Renewable Energy and energy efficiency schemes in Calderdale.
The scheme will start with 3 hydro power schemes in Calderdale - based on feasibility studies carried out by the Power from the Landscape project - which show the potential for a good rate of return on invesment. We do have some initial investment but are looking for further funding to get the scheme off the ground.
We have applied to British Gas Energy Share for a grant of £100,000. The projects with the most support will be selected to go through to the next round. Please help by registering your support on their website. It is very quick and easy - simply click here and click on the Support this group - and you will bring us closer to water powered energy in Calderdale.
Please pass this on to your friends and colleagues.
