Hebden Royd gets ready for a clean up

Thursday, 7 April 2011

Thanks to Hebden Royd Town Council for the following

Hebden Royd Town Council are holding their annual clean up this weekend.

The long, harsh winter is finally coming to an end and the sun is making a welcome appearance. Deep below the ground the bulbs are starting to grow and will soon be pushing their way up through the earth, blossoming towards the sunshine. The green world begins to return after its winter slumber and spring is here!

Now is a perfect time to get things in order and Hebden Royd Town Council hopes that the whole community will be out in force to help with the big Spring Clean on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April. From litter picks to weeding; in parks and on streets, there will be something for everyone to help with to get the area back to its best.

Emma Housman, Neighbourhood Manager for Hebden Royd Town Council said: "We are asking residents to put the dates in their diaries and start to have a think about how they could get involved ? maybe a group of residents could clean up their street, garden and yards or a community group could raise sponsorship for cleaning up a certain area."

Hebden Royd Town Council are delighted to once again have the support of Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team; the team will be using their training to help to clean up the hard to reach areas such as river banks and steep woods. The team are always up for a challenge so if anyone can think of a 'hard to reach' area to be included in the Spring Clean or if anyone would like more details about how to get involved, please contact Hebden Royd Town Council's Neighbourhood Manager on 01422 842181 or emma@hebdenroyd.org.uk.
