Local indie stars The Stations headline a rare hometown gig at the Trades Club on Saturday August 7 showcasing new material.

The Stations have been making a big name for themselves in Manchester playing a series of gigs including a show at the legendary Night and Day which has featured all the Madchester stars over the years. Online reviewers Manchester Music sang their praises saying 'Their buoyant rock is full of differing attitudes from straight up grunged up mantras, to the sliced up chop of a guitar that sounds like speeded ska going through a distortion pedal'

Support comes from another up and coming local band Cool Piano Roll fresh from their stint backing Can Legend Damo Suzuki at his standing room only gig at the club last weekend.

The weekend starts on Thursday August 5 with a no holds barred cerebral brawl as Dave Boardman hosts the monthly quiz. Teams battle it out to win the top prize of a cheap bottle of wine and some stuff lying around in the office converted into prizes.

Dubmeisters Chapter Four bring sunshine sounds from the Caribbean back to the valley on Friday August 8 after playing hugely popular DJ sets at the Beathearder and Wickerman festivals.

Their mix of Jamaican ska, rocksteady classics and even some wired digital dub won them many new friends on the festival circuit but on home turf it's more of usual positive friendly vibe.

"The Trades is always happy to support home-grown talent and the Stations are certainly making a name for themselves especially over the Pennines in Manchester," Trades Club spokesperson Paul Clarke told the Hebden Bridge Web.

"Chapter 4 have always produced dub nights of the highest quality so I'm not at all surprised they have become so popular on the festival circuit and it's long overdue in my view."
