Salem Sports Field

On Friday 14th June in excess of 60 teenagers had a party on the sports field during which a large quantity of alcohol and some cannabis was consumed. Unfortunately, a small number then decided to dismantle some fencing and distance marker posts and build a fire next to the cricket clubhouse. Luckily a passerby spotted the danger and contacted the police who attended promptly.
The teenagers dispersed and whilst the police were putting the fire out their vehicle which was parked in Spring Grove was vandalised.
Most worryingly an illegal lock knife with a 4" blade was found on the sports field.
I would like to thank the dog walkers who bagged up the bottles etc that had been left behind and the member of the public who contacted the police and probably prevented serious damage being caused to the clubhouse.
