Sorry to hear that your pooch was distressed, Steve;  I don't own a pet any longer but empathise.  

We had the very loud 'boomers' (bombs) here on Brearley little park at midnight!  In the park a public place.  Fire/Police/Ambulance no doubt exhausted - elsewhere.  

I love fireworks but a ban on individual use is long overdue.  Organised events: safer, communal, litter picked up afterward etc., everyone comes together has food, perhaps some music and enjoys!  Family events. Calderdale Wake Up!

Must admit I thought it was all fairly low key this year -particulalry since we didn't have a village event.  I was just a field away and didn't notice anything that loud. Our old dog hated them but so long as it was just a couple of times a year that's seemed ok - the problem is if they over-extend the allowed periods.
