Have 'little free libraries'/ outdoor stands filled with books got out of hand?

There are at least 6 in Tod town centre alone. 

Their ubiquitousness could cause less visits to the public library which already struggles to attract visitors post shutdown.

I had to make a conscious effort today to return to the actual library faced with a book stand on every corner!

My main motivation was finding some non-fiction, so outdoor stands do have their limitations.
