Has anyone else recently received a letter through the post that (at first glance) looks as if it is from a 'neighbour', complete with printed on fake stamp and smiley face?

Nextdoor is supposed to be a 'free private social network' to help us 'build a better neighbourhood'.

I did a bit of research, and it's not quite what it appears - it's an American company, recently moved into Europe, venture capital backed and yet to turn a profit. It seems to me that it will get it's revenue from data selling, with the added benefit of having real names and addresses to flog.

It seems rather sad that anyone in a place like Hebden Bridge would see this sort of nonsense as either necessary or a good idea - or am I just being a cynical old git (again)?
